Eklektikos - Pomona, Ca

“Eklektikos” group show was featured in the Progress Space Gallery during June and July of 2006

Outstanding works by a dynamic group of local artists were showcased at Progress Space Gallery during June and July of 2006. Sixteen Shameless Self Promoters (SSPs) came together for a show that wowed everyone who attended.

Lucien van Oosten, the show’s coordinator, said “ the most popular media were represented – oil, acrylic, pen and ink, pencil, ceramics, stained glass, jewelry, photography, mixed media – it was an eclectic and exciting show.”

The SSPs are a very mixed bag. They include engineers, chefs, art professors and students, “corporate” artists, and even a few who are lucky enough to be able to indulge their creative passion on a full-time basis. They were thrilled that Progress Space Gallery had the room they need to mount a show of this size and complexity.

The artists who participated in the show were:

John Arenas, Marty Michaelson, Regina Cardenas, Lucien van Oosten, Carolyn Cunningham, Rita Poorman, Alex Garcia, Tracy Pritchard, Skyler Gonzalez, Maryann Rachford, Nancy Gorman, Melissa Reed, Susan Hoskinson, Jodi Schneider, Richy Manual, Carly Wouters

“Eklektikos” was open on Saturday, June 3 and ran through Sunday, July 30. Normal gallery hours were 11am-4pm, Thursday through Sunday. The gallery was manned by participating artists during the show’s run. The Artists’ Reception was on Saturday, June 10, from 6-10pm.
