Artist Profile
I work in watercolor,
because the looseness of the medium allows me to deal with other
forces of nature, such as the water having a mind of its own. A
little of it is technique, and a little is chance. The paint isn't
actually thinking of what to do. It is a team effort of person, and
water.
Usually I focus on racehorses only, but currently
I have been mixing a creative brew of other characters, and concepts
that certain people and situations have influenced me in this
particular direction. Also it is great to watch the color move about
the paper, and become something I was not planning on doing.
I am Jeremy Lopez. I am
enrolled in the Monrovia Adult School, and go when I can to learn
something new from others in the program, and from an outstanding
artist and teacher. This is my second time participating in this art
show with this group. In August my work will be at the Pomona
Library, then at the Cal. Cup art show at Santa Anita Race Track in
the fall.
