Variations of Form |
“Variations of Form” was featured in the Progress Space Gallery during January and February of 2008
From a dot, to a line, to a form the underground Progress Space Gallery has evolved into great place where new innovative and original art can be seen from today's contemporary Southern California artists. A trip down to the heart of the Pomona Art Colony must include a stop at the new show "Variations of Form" presented by the Shameless Self Promoters (SSP), which includes displays of various styles of art and media that will prove to be a very visually appealing experience.
SSP coordinator Lucien van Oosten gathered together artists who are uprising talents and established veterans and asked them to display their own personal interpretation of "Variation of Form". Each artist's vision evolved and grew until they each had created a body of artwork that was diverse and innovative. Their visions merged and diverged and the result is art that explores a wide range of subjects including the human form, forms of revolution, and the forms of nature. The diverse and eclectic nature of the show guarantees that everyone will find a piece that enthralls and inspires them. The "Variation of Form" show runs Thursday to Sunday starting January 5, 2006 to February 24, 2007, from 11 to 4pm with an artist reception scheduled for the second Saturday of each month. The show will be held at the Progress Space Gallery located at 300 S. Thomas St. in Pomona, Ca. The artists who participated in the show were: Marty Michaelson Lucien van Oosten Alex Garcia Tracy Pritchard David Cook Susan Hoskinson Debra Walters Jason Dominguez Carol Fields Skyler Gonzalez Art Nunez Carolyn Cunningham Karyn Raschers Jeremy Lopez
