Artist Profile
Debra Walters is an award winning artist who brings you art
inspired by adventures at home and travels abroad. Debra is a
board member of Pomona Valley Art Association where she serves as
the Monthly Show Chairman. She also exhibits her fine art at
Gallery SoHo in Pomona, California. Debra grew up in sunny
southern California, when flower power and rock-n-roll were all
the rage. As a child she wrote poetry and drew cartoons for fun.
About 8 years ago she began taking art classes and started her
journey toward her new passion, of creating art. Studying under
the living masters Sylvia Megerdician, Melanie Phillips and
currently, Tom Fong.
"My inspirations come from Mother Nature and my family.
Acrylics and watercolors have been the mainstay of mediums I use
for transposing what is in my mind and heart to paper and canvas.
I do not use any scientific mode of painting nor do I have a lot
of language associated with each painting. But I rather paint when
my emotions move me to. I often dream a painting or colors than
find a venue to implement the interpretation as art".
